As we grow older, our bodies and minds tend to diminish slightly. This can cause worry in our loved ones, especially if living alone. Reports show however that up to 90% of elderly people would rather live in their own homes than an assisted living facility or likewise. Independent living can be dangerous however. The elderly are much more prone to falling, with around 50% of all people over the age of 80 falling at least once per year. This could result in a severe injury, as even minor injuries at this age can result in a permanent disability, or even death.
